We are highlighting this week on Throwback Thursday to the Park View Executive Center 1 (south building) 33,000 sf and 2 (north building) 23,000 sf as one of the first major projects completed at our firm. These were newly constructed contemporary buildings featuring office space for administration, fund raising departments for Cornell University, and main frame computer for a marketing firm.

We have been fortunate to work with the City of Rochester and their Department of Recreation and Human Services, along with our subconsultants to bring to life the first urban nature center in Rochester, NY. The Maplewood Nature Center located in a historic park designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted, and is serving as a beacon for the Rochester community. Providing teaching gardens, a teaching kitchen and exhibit space to create new learned experiences though summer camps, school trips and community held events.

Maplewood Nature Center was designed to be a Net-Zero building. The building will produce enough energy to support its own energy needs. Geothermal heat pumps provide heating and cooling in the facility and solar panels on the roof for electrical energy. By increasing insulation at the entire building envelope along with new windows and doors, it reduces heat loss for the facility. The landscape architecture design is equally environmentally responsible featuring native plants, bio-swales, porous asphalt parking lot, electrical car charging stations and a new wooden playground.

Here's a look into a project that is a completed residence project in Brighton, NY which included an addition of a two car garage, mudroom, laundry on the first floor, kitchen and dinning room expansion and renovations. Throwback Thursday to highlight our work done at the American Red Cross located in Henrietta, NY. The project was completed in 1999 and was built by the Nichols Team. This facility houses state of the art blood manufacturing, laboratories, office spaces and an administrative center that promotes the organizations commitment to humanitarian efforts.
