Special Event
We are pleased to welcome Rochester-based artist Stephen Harkola, who will present “Local Heroine,” an audiovisual presentation exploring his Heroine Series around 6:45 pm.
Stephen Harkola is a Rochester, NY–based figurative, landscape, and abstract painter. He works in a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and charcoal. Believing that his figurative work and his landscape and abstract painting are synergistic, he develops progressive series in each area. This talk will focus on his “Heroine Series” which includes over 40 large format oil and acrylic portraits shown at several exhibitions. Many of these studio pieces originated from models posing at Group in the Loop figure drawing sessions as well as dedicated photo shoots
