Our Culver Road Armory office in Rochester, NY, and Temple, TX office have dedicated collection bins where employees can responsibly recycle electronics and e-waste.

Proper electronic waste recycling helps keep harmful materials out of landfills, recover valuable resources, and reduce our environmental footprint.

MRB Group recently partnered with the Town of Lyons, NY, to complete a comprehensive update of its zoning regulations, helping modernize the Town’s code while preserving the character of the community.

Working alongside Town officials, a local Steering Committee, residents, farmers, business owners, and other stakeholders, the updated regulations incorporate current planning best practices, including more flexible dimensional standards, updated parking requirements, and clearer pathways for housing options such as ADUs, duplexes, and townhouses.

The result is a more streamlined and community-focused zoning framework designed to support thoughtful growth and future development.

MRB Group and Hancock Estabrook LLP are continuing our annual series designed to support local governments, municipal officials, and planning and zoning boards with practical information and resources.

Join us for Session #9: Funding Your Priorities – Developing and Managing Competitive Grant Applications on October 22 from 6–7 PM.

Federal and state grant opportunities continue to expand, offering communities resources for everything from planning and community development initiatives to major infrastructure projects. This session will cover how thoughtful planning and prioritization can strengthen grant applications, the key elements of a competitive application, and what communities should be prepared for when administering a grant after an award.

Kelly Root, RA, Arch Project Manager I, and James Warren, Associate Engineer I, spent Friday at Masonry 101 Hands-On in Liverpool, NY, gaining a new appreciation for masonry construction.

From learning code requirements and best-practice details in the classroom to laying brick and block on the training floor, the experience helped connect design concepts with real-world construction techniques.

Thank you to the masonry organizations and skilled craftspeople who shared their knowledge and expertise. Hands-on experiences like this help our team become better designers and create more practical, buildable projects.
