Why choose trade school over a 4-year college?
It costs less: On average, most public in-state bachelor's degrees cost nearly 100k while trade schools average at about 33k. In addition to that significant cost difference, the 2 years' worth of salary that trade school graduates gain by not being in school anymore drives those costs even further apart.
More focused classes: Typically, the first one or two years of a four-year program are spent taking general education courses that cover a broad range of subjects. While at a trade school, the classes are geared towards a specific career path and are smaller with higher student-to-teacher interaction.
Simpler admissions process: Compared to college, the trade school admissions process is much simpler. Typically, only a high school diploma is required as a prerequisite for trade school. Whereas for college, the process is quite lengthy, including applications, essays, letters, and standardized tests.
