Old building or new, our window process can be guided by three questions:

How can we bring in more natural light?
How can we improve energy performance?
How do we respect the building’s history and how it’s used?

From full campus upgrades to the restoration of historic mills, the answers are different for every building, and that’s what makes the work rewarding.

Planning a window project? Let’s talk. https://cjsarchitects.com/

Congratulations! 👏👏👏

The National Women’s Hall of Fame is honored to receive a 2026 Excellence in Historic Preservation Award from the Preservation League of New York State, recognizing the restoration and adaptive reuse of the historic Seneca Knitting Mill.

This recognition reflects nearly two decades of work to preserve the 1844 Mill and transform it into the Hall’s permanent home, creating a space where women’s history can be shared for generations to come.

We’re especially grateful to CJS Architects, whose leadership, expertise and partnership have been integral to bringing this vision to life, as well as the many partners who contributed to this remarkable project.

✨From construction drawings to ribbon cutting ✂️✨
Yesterday marked a major milestone as we celebrated the opening of the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship. Witnessing the transformation of this historic site from the ground up has been an incredible journey.

We took the breathtaking brutalist architecture of the former Buffalo News building and carved out over 80,000 SF of inspiring, high-performance space for Buffalo’s future entrepreneurs. By sensitively honoring its original structure while integrating modern HVAC, LED lighting, and collaborative learning environments, this space now bridges the gap between historic design and real-world innovation.

Thank you to the Golisano team, leadership, and the incredible construction team for helping us turn this vision into a landmark of opportunity.
