As we get ready to celebrate the 4th of July, many of us plan to attend fireworks displays or host our own fireworks festivities. Below are a few safety tips to help ensure your holiday weekend is incident free. Have a happy and safe 4th of July!

- Never let small children handle fireworks.
- Don't point fireworks at yourself or others.
- Only light fireworks on the ground and in areas that are dry and fire-resistant.
- Always keep a portable fire extinguisher and water close by.
- If fireworks malfunction, don't try to relight them.
- Resist the urge to bring your dog to a fireworks display. The safest place for them is at home.
