🌸 Let’s Talk About Annuals. 🌸

There’s something I hear all the time at my plant stand and at markets…

Someone falls in love with a beautiful blooming plant and asks, “Is this a perennial?”

When I say, “No, it’s an annual,” I often hear:

“Oh… that’s too bad.”
“What a shame.”
“I wish it was a perennial.”

And every time, I think… Why?! 😂

We’ve somehow been taught that if a plant doesn’t come back every year, it isn’t worth having. But annuals deserve more love! 🌼

Perennials provide a lasting foundation, but many bloom for only a few weeks. Annuals often bloom for months, from early summer until frost, filling our gardens with continuous color.

Annuals provide months of beauty, attract pollinators, fill containers and garden beds, and bring us joy all season long. Plus, you get to change things up every year with fresh color palettes, exciting plant pairings, new varieties to try, and new favorites to discover.

Annuals and perennials aren’t competitors. They’re partners.

Perennials give us longevity. Annuals give us abundance.

And a garden filled with both? That’s where the magic happens. 🌿🌼

There’s a wonderful assortment of vendors here, and we’re stocked up with some of our fall favorites — including gorgeous zinnias, beautiful houseplant creations, dried goods, and plenty of seasonal treasures from Walnut Plain Gardens. 🍂🌻🪴

We’re looking forward to seeing so many familiar faces (and hopefully some new ones!) this fall. 🧡

Come plant shopping with us! 🌿🪴

On Thursday, Paige and I headed to our local wholesale grower to hand-pick a beautiful assortment of perennials, annuals, and houseplants for the fall season at Walnut Plain Gardens.

We found SO many beautiful and special plants, and we can’t wait to share them with you! 🍂🌱

The plant stand reopens this Saturday, August 29, and we’ll be open 7 days a week, 9 AM–6 PM, through mid-October.
