Throwback Thursday! 🎥 This was one of my very first videos, and my son Jake was the cameraman that day. He can tell you how many times we tried to get it right we just kept telling each other, “Let’s try again.” I remember that day like it was yesterday. Practice makes improvement, not perfection. I’m not where I want to be yet, and I still have a long way to go, but I’m grateful I’m not where I used to be. Keep showing up, keep practicing, and keep improving. ❤️

Homeowners, your thermostat setting matters. The higher you set the temperature, the longer your furnace may need to run to maintain it which means more gas usage. Find a comfortable temperature and avoid constantly turning it way up and back down. Your thermostat controls comfort, but it also affects how much energy your home uses. 🔥🍂

How to test an HVAC capacitor ⚡️⚠️

A quick meter test can tell you if your capacitor is still within its rated range. Always shut off power and discharge before testing.

Furnace starts, then shuts right back off? 🔥

Don’t automatically assume the furnace is done. Sometimes the system is shutting itself down because a safety control is detecting a problem.

Start with the simple things: check the air filter, make sure your supply and return vents aren’t blocked, and check that the furnace intake/exhaust outside isn’t covered by leaves, snow, or debris.

If it keeps happening, don’t keep resetting the furnace. That’s when it’s worth having the cause properly diagnosed.

Save this for heating season and send it to a homeowner. 🔧
