15 years of dedication, leadership, and craftsmanship — that’s what Billy Hatcher brings to Merit Contracting. As a Sheetmetal Foreman, Billy has built a reputation for being dependable, hardworking, and always putting his team first. His positive attitude and strong work ethic make him someone his crew can count on every single day.

We asked Billy a few fun questions so everyone could get to know him a little better:

Q: Looking back at your career with Merit so far, what accomplishment are you most proud of?
A: Taking on the Sheetmetal Foreman position and continuing to work with a great group of people.

Q: Where would you most like to travel to and why?
A: I haven’t been on vacation in a while, so I’m not too picky! Hawaii, Mexico, or even Florida again would be great.

Q: What is a fun fact about you that may surprise your co-workers?
A: When I was 23 years old, I was one test away from earning my black belt in karate at National Karate.

Q: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off of work?
A: Relaxing in the pool with the dogs.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect Saturday evening through Monday afternoon for parts of north central and northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota.

🌨 Possible Conditions:
• 12–18 inches of snow, with isolated areas up to 24 inches
• Wind gusts up to 40–50 mph causing blowing and drifting snow
• Blizzard conditions possible
• Travel could become very difficult or impossible, especially by Monday morning

Please plan ahead, limit travel during the worst conditions, and stay updated on the forecast.

Whether it’s his craftsmanship, reliability, or positive attitude on the job, Nate is someone his crew can always count on.

Q: What is one thing, within the company, you are excited for within the coming year?
A: New challenges and opportunities to continue to grow as a Carpenter!

A: Officially becoming a Journeyman Carpenter

Q: Where would you most like to travel to and why?
A: Greece, because of all of it's history

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A: The ability to travel through time. It would be cool to talk to people and loved ones from the past that are no longer with us. Also, to see what the future holds.
