Meet Derrek — Plumber at Lalonde Plumbing 🔧

If you’ve had Lalonde Plumbing out to your home, there’s a good chance you’ve met Derrek.

Coming up on two years with us, Derrek is our longest-tenured field team member and has been a big part of our growth along the way.

Derrek is a wicked good, well-rounded plumber. His biggest strength is understanding plumbing systems as a whole — whether he’s roughing in an entire project from the ground up, diagnosing a difficult service call, or figuring out the best way to make an existing system work better.

That versatility makes him someone we can confidently put on just about any plumbing job.

Outside of work, Derrek is big into golf, softball, and sports, but the most important job he has is being a dad to his 4-year-old son.

We’re lucky to have Derrek as one of the OGs at Lalonde Plumbing, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the next few years bring.

MEET THE TEAM — TY 👋

Figured it was about time I introduced myself.

I’m Ty, owner and plumber here at Lalonde Plumbing.

I’ve spent most of my working life in the trades — with 8 years of experience through Local 13 Plumbers & Pipefitters and another 6+ years working in residential plumbing.

Eventually, I decided to take everything I’d learned and build something of my own.

Lalonde Plumbing started with a pretty simple goal: build the kind of plumbing company I’d want showing up at my own house.

That means answering the phone, communicating with customers, doing clean work, giving people honest options, and standing behind what we do.

Since then, what started small has grown into an awesome team of plumbers, remodelers and office staff serving homeowners throughout Rochester and Monroe County.

And we’re still just getting started.

Outside of work, I’m usually spending time with my family, hanging out with Cooper and Wilson, playing guitar or drums, woodworking, or trying to sneak in a round of golf.

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to introduce you to the people behind Lalonde Plumbing — because this company wouldn’t be what it is without the team we’ve built.

First up: apparently, me.

You can teach the trade. You can’t fake the chemistry.

Every morning starts with a meeting — jobs for the day, expectations, safety, customer experience, and making sure everyone knows the plan.

But sometimes the best part happens after the meeting. 😂

Mitchell, Ethan, Derrek and Tony giving each other a hard time, messing around, laughing, and enjoying a few minutes at the shop before the vans roll out.

We take the work seriously. Ourselves? Not always.

Plumbing and remodeling can mean long days, tough jobs, crawl spaces, emergencies, unexpected problems and plenty of pressure. Having a crew that can laugh together makes those days a whole lot better.

Building Lalonde Plumbing isn’t just about adding trucks or booking more jobs. It’s about building a team of people who actually enjoy coming to work, have each other’s backs, and take pride in what we’re building together.

Then the meeting ends, the nonsense stops…

Well, mostly.

And it’s time to get to work.

This gem from Bronson last year makes me laugh! From 2 to now 8 employees, nothings changed! We’re always going to be that company that has your back, is trustworthy, dependable, with a side of sense of humor. It’s nice to look back on where we started!
