That’s why VFP works closely with local community colleges and CTE programs across Southwest Virginia to support workforce development initiatives.

For example, Scott County Career and Technical Center recently needed cable ladder materials to install welders in their classroom, and VFP was proud to provide the materials at no cost.

Skilled trades play an important role in strengthening our communities and industries, and we’re proud to support programs like these that offer invaluable hands-on career training and industry experience.

Thank you to everyone who came out. We had a great time connecting with you all!

🏭 On 05/21, representatives from Shaping Our Appalachian Region, HCTC, Big Sandy Community & Technical College, and Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College visited VFP, Inc. in Duffield, Virginia.

🤝 The group met with company leadership to learn more about the expansion of their operations and workforce needs.

👷 During the visit, attendees toured the facility and gained insight into the skills needed for entry-level positions and the company’s employee-focused culture.

📚 The visit also highlighted how collaboration between SOAR, KCTCS, and industry partners can help connect students and community members with future career opportunities.
