Canaan Church – Chapel Entrance Restoration

Safety and long-term durability were our top priorities on this project. The original front porch support post had completely failed at the base, leaving the porch roof unsupported and creating a serious structural concern.

The Just R Time Construction team first stabilized and secured the porch to prevent any movement while repairs were underway. We then removed the broken post, excavated the failed footing, and installed a new 10-inch Sonotube foundation with reinforced concrete. The new concrete pier was extended 12 inches above finished grade, allowing the new pressure-treated support post to be mounted above ground level. This design eliminates direct ground contact, significantly reducing the risk of future rot and extending the life of the structure.

The result is a porch that is once again safe, structurally sound, and built to last, while maintaining the appearance and character of Canaan Church for years to come.
