Story time with Mr. P.... two issues im currently dealing with.
1. If you hire a General Contractor and he says he doesn't need a plumber ( electrician or hvac guy for that matter) and he says he can handle it, ask him if he has experience other then being a glorified handyman. GC's usually specialize in one area and hire reputable subs. I have a client asking to finish up a job , the contractor did the rough. And it's unfinished and he used sharkies on the water lines. Its hard for me to want to put my name on something like that. So ask your GC if he uses subs or if he has had a liscence in any of the trades
2... Client hired a HVAC guy on 2 remodels im helping with. Hvac guy said gas lines are the plumbing contractors issue. No , plumber does gas on commercial jobs. The Hvac guy said it's to big a liability for him? But is it a liability for me , as the plumber? Now I have to go to Ogggie town to hook up the gas line to his furnace.... then the client wants a bid to do the gas lines on the other job.... sorry , im so busy I cant right now....
That's all for story time with Mr. P
Know who you're hiring , know what their scope is, and dont pay for something that isn't finished properly
