So I really take every compliment I get to heart. From people I grew up with to people with 10 followers and no posts. But I got a follow from .by.bat and this simple instant message from him and it blew my mind. I follow several painters that inspire me. Some I occasionally interact with and ask questions and I’ve yet to have someone not reply back. They’ve all been pretty good about answering questions and things like that. But I’ve never had one return a follow, let alone just shoot me a message like this. Thanks a bunch Bat, you made my day. I invite anyone that sees this to give him a follow and have your minds blown. Thanks again Bat, that means a lot.

So, the backstory on the name Red Rocket Custom Paint is this. My Uncle Jacks 2001 FXDWG2. This bike is the reason my first bike was a wide glide. The only bike I stared at for hours. The only bike I ever rode next to and was green with envy over. I loved this bike. Sadly, I lost him shortly after this photo was taken. Jack was a best friend of my dad, my grandmother, myself and my daughter. One in a million people have a positive effect on 4 generations of a family. We all loved him dearly. One of the best people I’ve ever known in my life. Jack called me over to his house the summer of 2020 and told me I needed to take this bike for a ride. I couldn’t believe it. After 19 years of staring at it I was finally going to get to ride it. I rode for hours that day grinning ear to ear. When I took it back to him he told me that was the longest that bike had been out of his sight in 20 years. I borrowed and rode it several times that summer and we were working out a deal on me buying this bike from him. Sadly, the deal died with him and this bike went to someone else. He wanted me to have it but that’s not the way the cards got dealt. I think about UJ every day, still listen to a voicemail he left me 4 years ago. Best friend I’ve ever had. Love and miss you UJ.

My CFO (Chief Fotographical Officer) didn’t like the photos that were in my shop, sun finally came out and we had the opportunity to get some decent pics. Love the way this sporty came out. Thanks Evelyn Tracey for taking the time to get me the photos to give this bike some justice.

One of my really good friends called me up and asked if I could paint up his 2022 FXLRST. After waiting months on winter and not having the heat in my shop that I needed I was able to get this bike started and finished. He gambled on me and I think we won. Never painted a bike before this or really anything for anyone else. A couple helmets, a couple panels and my Edsel. Couldn’t be more appreciative of him letting me get this done and helping me get a start at something that I really enjoy.
