Just wanted to reach out and let everyone know that some of these insurance companies are starting to reach their 180 day timeline. If you still have insurance work that needs to be done make sure to reach out to your insurance company or your claims adjuster and let them know that you are still waiting for the work to be performed and that you have a contractor lined up, and that due to the immense amount of damage in the area all the local contractors are busy and cannot get the entire town of Kalona fixed in 6 months. You will have to ask for an extension, most insurance companies understand this and will give you an extension as long as we stay in communication with them. If you have any problems please give us a call or if you need some documentation that the work will be completed please reach out to us and we would be happy to help.

Brenneman Builders is wrapping up their biggest project to date. We committed to this project last fall and its been one heck of a task, but rain, 62 foot long metal sheets and the heat wasn't going to stop us from completing a job well done for this church in Mt. Pleasant. Thank you for everyone's patience over the last 3 weeks, we have been working sun up until sun down and have not been able to get back to all of our customers. We will be back at it in Kalona next week!

Nick and Tyler are out and about prioritizing customers that got the worst of the storm and have broken skylights and leaking roofs. If you can clearly see you have damage we highly suggest contacting your insurance company and having an adjuster come out to start the claim process. We are working on getting everyone called back and appreciate everyone's patience. If you are in immediate need of a temporary repair give Nick a call and we will do our best to help you!

Due to the recent storms around the Kalona area there is going to be an immense amount of out of town storm chasers going door to door, we strongly suggest posting a sign on your door, saying something along the lines of-we are hiring local and not interested in door to door sales thank you. This will hopefully help you avoid the frequent flow of salesmen who unfortunately do not have your best interest in mind. We are here if you have any questions or need any help navigating the insurance claim process.

Hey everyone, just wanted to share this bit of information for anyone that was recently affected by the storms.

Last night our area experienced a significant hail event. As you begin assessing damage to your home today, please keep the following in mind:

• Contact your insurance carrier first.
• Be cautious of contractors knocking on your door offering quick repairs.
• Avoid paying any out-of-town contractor money upfront.
• Check references and verify credentials before hiring anyone.

Unfortunately, major storms often bring “storm chasers”, contractors who travel from out of town and may not stand behind their work. Don’t let this storm cost you more than it should.

Instead, consider working with a trusted local professional. Members of the Iowa City Area Home Builders Association and the Cedar Rapids Home Builders Association are established contractors who are invested in our community.
