PSA ...If you are purchasing a home with a well , you should use a licensed well person . Home inspectors often do not know how to take water samples. Neglecting to disinfect the sample site leads to false positives.
Also , we chlorinate the well ( with chlorine tablets that sink to the bottom) after the sample is taken so we can retest in case of a positive result without having to wait .
Never put liquid chlorine in your well ! It corrodes the casing and drop pipe . Swimming pool chlorine has algaecides that could endangered your health .
