I messed this up a few times, had to fix or replace damaged finishes and believe me, it’s not fun at all. These days we protect these finishes promptly and stay on top of the site cleaning to ensure we can turn over a pristine project to our clients.

Lighting this long, secluded hallway presented a challenge, with no exterior walls to draw light from. With its position in the center of the house directly under a peak, traditional skylights weren’t feasible either. These solar tubes use a reflective tunnel to bring the daylight in through the attic space and a diffuser washes the hallway with natural light throughout the day.

In a couple of short months this project will be crossing the finish line and be ready to become a home again.

It is such a privilege and responsibility to transform a project like this, and it’s all I’ve wanted to do since I was 10 years old.

This iPhone snap I took a couple of weeks ago shows the four cladding selections on this exterior, the resawn for beam work and a splash of PNW sunrise. (If I had better photography skills I could get the exposure better, but you will just have to take my word for it, it looked awesome)

Our team is pushing through the last few days of work in 2024, and looking forward to a week spent with family and friends celebrating the birth of our savior. We have so much to be grateful for, as always.
