That chirping keeping you up at night is not just an outdoor sound. Crickets often make their way into basements and garages, especially as late summer nights turn cooler and they look for a warmer, quieter place to settle in.

Once they are inside, they tend to stick to dark, damp corners where they are easy to hear but hard to find. Sealing up obvious gaps helps, but crickets are persistent about finding a way back in.

Lewis Pest Control targets basement and garage hotspots directly, seals the gaps crickets use to get inside, and finishes with a perimeter treatment so they stay out.

If the chirping has been keeping you up, call 804-735-0100 or visit lewispest.com to schedule a treatment.

Not seeing bugs does not always mean you do not have a problem. Many pests, like termites, roaches, and rodents, stay hidden in walls, crawl spaces, and other areas you do not see every day.

By the time an infestation becomes visible, it has often been building for a while. Regular pest control catches problems early, before they turn into a bigger, more expensive issue.

Lewis Pest Control inspects the areas most homeowners never think to check, so small problems get handled before they grow.

If it has been a while since your last inspection, call 804-735-0100 or visit lewispest.com to schedule one.

Spotted a roach in the kitchen or bathroom lately? Warm, humid conditions make it easier for them to find their way into Central Virginia homes.

Reaching for a spray or a fogger might feel like the fastest fix, but it often backfires. Foggers only kill a small percentage of roaches and send the rest scattering into wall voids, appliances, and light fixtures, which makes the problem harder to solve down the road.

Lewis Pest Control takes a different approach. We start with an inspection to find what is drawing roaches in, then treat the source directly. Our quarterly pest control service helps keep them from coming back.

If roaches have become a regular sight in your home, give us a call at 804-735-0100 or visit lewispest.com to schedule an inspection.

It is tempting to grab a spray or a fogger at the first sign of a pest problem, but these quick fixes often make things worse instead of better.

Foggers only kill a small percentage of what is actually there. The rest scatter into wall voids, appliances, and hard to reach areas, which makes the problem harder to solve later on. Store bought sprays work the same way, treating what you can see while missing where pests are actually living and breeding.

Lewis Pest Control starts with an inspection to find the real source of the problem, then treats it directly so it does not just come right back.

If DIY treatments have not solved your pest problem, call 804-735-0100 or visit lewispest.com to schedule an inspection.

Stink bugs are more of a nuisance than a real threat, but that does not make them any less annoying once they show up on window screens, siding, or porch furniture.

They are drawn to sunny, warm surfaces outside, and once the weather starts to shift, they look for any small gap to slip indoors. Spraying them once they are already inside rarely solves the problem, since new ones just keep finding their way in.

Lewis Pest Control focuses on the exterior, sealing entry points and treating the areas stink bugs use to get inside, so you are not dealing with them one at a time all season.

If stink bugs have been showing up around your home, call 804-735-0100 or visit lewispest.com to schedule an inspection.

Fleas do not stay outside for long. They hitch a ride on pets, then move into carpets, bedding, and furniture where they can multiply fast.

A few fleas can turn into a real problem within days, since they lay eggs continuously once established indoors. Store bought sprays and powders often knock down what you can see, but they rarely reach eggs and larvae hiding deeper in carpets and cracks.

Lewis Pest Control treats for fleas at every stage, not just the ones you notice, so the problem does not come right back.

If fleas have made their way into your home, call 804-735-0100 or visit lewispest.com to schedule a treatment.

Termite damage is often mistaken for something else entirely. Wood rot gets blamed more often than not, but a few specific signs point to termites instead. Dirt inside or protruding from cracks in wood is one clue, and cream-colored insects inside the wood are a clear indication of an active infestation.

Springtime swarms are another sign to watch for, usually after a warm rain. These small, dark, winged insects often show up near windows and are frequently mistaken for winged ants, but the two are not the same.

Lewis Pest Control inspects the home inside, around, and underneath to check for termite activity, and documents any evidence found along the way.

Mosquitoes tend to hide in the same places most people overlook. Shady vegetation, standing water in flower pots, tires, or tarps, and shaded corners of the yard all give them a place to rest and breed between bites.

Lewis Pest Control's monthly mosquito treatment targets the vegetation where mosquitoes hide, along with an inspection of the property for breeding areas that could work against the treatment. Care is taken to avoid affecting pollinators like honey bees and butterflies during the process.

The same visit also addresses ticks, so the yard stays usable without either pest cutting the evening short.

Every job at Lewis Pest Control starts the same way, with an inspection. Before any treatment plan is proposed, a technician documents what is actually happening on the property, whether that is droppings, entry points, nesting material, or moisture damage, often using photo verification so homeowners can see the findings for themselves.

That means the treatment plan that follows is based on the specific problem at hand, not a standard package applied to every property the same way.

This approach applies whether the issue is ants in the kitchen, a raccoon in the attic, or a termite concern. The inspection comes first, then the plan.

Not all ant problems are the same. Small ants trailing across kitchen counters are usually odorous house ants, drawn to anything sweet, greasy, or damp.

Carpenter ants are a different story. Signs to watch for include large black or black-and-red ants near windows, doors, decks, or rooflines, along with sawdust-like debris pushed out of small openings in wood. They tunnel through damp or softened wood to build their nests, which often points to a moisture issue as well.

Lewis Pest Control identifies which type you are dealing with and targets the colony itself, not just the ants you can see.
