For our October employee spotlight, we're pleased to introduce Ernesto Amaya. Ernesto has been with Alten Construction for two years as a commercial driver.
Born and raised in San Francisco, he attended Eastern Arizona College where he earned a degree in business. While he's relatively new to the construction industry, Ernesto has worked as a commercial driver throughout his career, allowing him to apply his driving experience to a construction setting.
"This role has allowed me to build on my knowledge of safety, responsibility, time management and dependability while continuing to learn about the construction field," said Ernesto.
When asked about his favorite part of the job, Ernesto says being part of a team and seeing a project come together from start to finish. He enjoys learning from the people around him, taking on new challenges and knowing that the company's work contributes to something that will serve the community for years to come.
In his free time, Ernesto enjoys showing his cars at car shows.
"I enjoy maintaining and presenting my cars, learning about their history and appreciating the craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into building them," said Ernesto. "I also enjoy working on small automotive projects, which has helped me develop patience, problem-solving skills and an appreciation for quality workmanship."
Thank you, Ernesto, for all your hard work. We look forward to many more wonderful years with you on our team!
