We love incorporating details into a remodel that you’d never know were there.

What looks like a picture hanging beside this vanity is actually a completely hidden, recessed storage cabinet. Open the picture frame and the interior lighting automatically turns on with a pressure switch. Close it, the light shuts off, and the cabinet disappears back into the wall.

It’s a simple way to add functional storage without sacrificing the clean look of the bathroom — and definitely one of our favorite custom details from this remodel.

The best remodels aren’t just about how a space looks. They’re about making it work better, too.

Have a unique idea for your home? We’d love to help bring it to life.

Before → After: Full Shower Remodel in King William, VA

This bathroom in King William started with a dated fiberglass tub, worn, and outdated. We gutted it down to the studs and built a custom walk-in shower with a tiled bench, a hex-mosaic niche, porcelain tile with epoxy grout, a rain shower head, and a frameless custom glass enclosure to finish it off.

The porcelain and epoxy grout combo means no staining and no scrubbing grout lines — it looks this clean because it stays this clean, not because of a fresh coat of caulk.

If your bathroom is stuck in the past, Kobe Construction can help you plan a remodel that actually fits how you live. Reach out to talk through your space.

Before → After.
Same double-sink layout, completely new look. New cabinet, quartz countertop, toilet, flooring, paint, lighting, and trim — every surface in this space got touched. It's proof you don't need to reconfigure a room to make it feel brand new, sometimes it's about upgrading everything that's already there.
Sneak peek — this is just one piece of a full bathroom remodel we just wrapped up. The full reveal is coming soon, including a feature we're pretty excited to show you. 👀

Master Bathroom Remodel Progress – King William, VA

Another bathroom transformation is taking shape! This project in King William, VA is now ready for tile after completing the waterproofing phase using the LATICRETE Hydro Ban system.

This shower features:
✔️ Custom waterproof shower system
✔️ Built-in bench for comfort and convenience
✔️ Recessed shower niche for storage
✔️ Large-format wall tile coming next
✔️ Durable porcelain hex floor tile

A properly waterproofed shower is one of the most important parts of a bathroom remodel. While it’s hidden behind the tile, it’s what protects your home from moisture and ensures your new shower lasts for years.

What you don't see can cost you thousands.

After removing this deck, we uncovered extensive rot in the home's band board, sheathing, and framing caused by years of water intrusion. What looked like a simple deck replacement quickly became a structural repair.

The biggest lesson? A deck ledger is only as good as the flashing and water management behind it.

A properly installed ledger should be part of a complete system that includes:
✔️ Self-adhered flashing behind the ledger
✔️ A properly integrated weather-resistant barrier
✔️ Vinyl ledger flashing over the ledger to direct water away from the home
✔️ Correct siding integration so water stays outside where it belongs

In these photos, you can see the repaired framing and the butyl flashing tape protecting the new band board before the ledger is reinstalled. The vinyl ledger flashing will be installed next to complete the waterproofing system.

The most important parts of a deck are often the parts you'll never see. At Kobe Construction, we believe building it right behind the scenes is just as important as how it looks when it's finished.
