Sometimes the plan changes and that’s where the real learning begins. After getting hooked on construction during a summer job in 1999, John imagined one path into the industry. But when that plan didn’t pan out, an opportunity to oversee a multifamily project put him in charge of everything from sequencing trades to navigating permits and inspections.
It was a baptism by fire and the experience that gave him the confidence to take a chance on himself. One major renovation later, Chandler Construction was born. The rest is history.

Behind the Build | West Hillcrest Ave

A lot of the work we’re most proud of isn’t the first thing you see when you walk into a room.

It’s the cabinet reveals lining up exactly as intended. The stone fabrication fitting perfectly around appliances and fixtures. The countless small decisions made during construction that create a finished space that simply feels right.

Projects like West Hillcrest Ave are a reminder that exceptional results come from paying attention to the details, even the ones most people will never notice.

That’s the difference between building a space and crafting one.

Progress continues at our Midlothian project.

With trim installation behind us, the details that define the character of a home are beginning to take shape. From casing and millwork to the finishing touches that frame each space, this stage requires patience, precision, and craftsmanship.

It’s often these details that receive the least attention during construction but make some of the biggest impressions once a project is complete.

We’re excited to see this home continue to come together and look forward to sharing more progress in the weeks ahead.
