Envir🌎wash’s current project, Thomas Jefferson High School. Timelapse!
The school is one of Virginia’s finest examples of Art Deco architecture. When it opened, it was considered one of the largest and most modern high schools in the South, featuring:
* Monumental limestone and brick construction
* Decorative Art Deco sculptures and detailing
* A large auditorium
* Science laboratories
* A planetarium, an unusual feature for a public high school at the time
Because of its architectural importance, the building was added to both the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
