Women of Asphalt National and the Asphalt Institute are launching a brand-new training opportunity: Inside the Mix: Understanding Asphalt Materials!

Join industry professionals December 9–10 in Lexington, Kentucky, for an engaging, hands-on learning experience focused on asphalt materials and the fundamentals behind the mix. This inaugural program is a great opportunity for anyone looking to expand their technical knowledge, connect with peers from across the country, and continue growing within the asphalt industry.

Last week, Women of Asphalt Virginia members Tigre Fortune, Tara Greene, and Ally Glover had the opportunity to attend the 3rd Annual Women of Asphalt x ASTEC Leadership Summit at the ASTEC Headquarters in Chattanooga, TN, and proudly represent Virginia alongside 100 other women from across the country.

The summit was filled with impactful leadership discussions, networking opportunities, an amazing site tour of ASTEC facilities, and inspiring stories from incredible speakers throughout the industry. A huge thank you to Astec Industries, Inc. for their tremendous hospitality throughout the week, and to Jaco van der Merwe, President & CEO of ASTEC, for his leadership and support of Women of Asphalt and the future of our industry.🚧

Attendees also had the privilege of hearing from Richard Schreck, the Virginia Asphalt Association's Past President of 36 years, who presented on the “History of Asphalt” and shared his extensive knowledge and perspective on the industry's evolution. Women of Asphalt Virginia was especially proud to see Ally Glover of Arkema share her story and participate on the leadership panel.

Events like this are a powerful reminder of the importance of investing in leadership, mentorship, and connection within our industry.
