As we wrap up the summer, our 2026 interns took the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and share a recap of their time with us.

Each intern highlighted the projects they worked on, what they learned throughout the summer, and the biggest takeaways they’ll carry with them moving forward.

Howdy from the State Fair of Texas jobsite!

Our commercial team is making great progress on the new 27,500-square-foot Administration Building for the State Fair of Texas. The two-story facility will serve as the State Fair’s year-round administrative headquarters, providing modern workspace and meeting areas to support the organization’s 365-day operations and community-focused mission.

For nearly 140 years, the State Fair of Texas has proudly called Fair Park home, and this project represents a significant investment in the nonprofit organization’s future and in the future of Fair Park. Located within the State Fair’s existing year-round footprint on the Midway, the new headquarters reinforces its long-term commitment to the historic campus. The building will replace the existing facility near Cotton Bowl Stadium, which has served the State Fair since 1989.

This building will help strengthen the team behind one of Texas’ most celebrated traditions, one of the largest nonprofits in North Texas, and one of the world’s largest annual events, supporting the State Fair’s year-round work in agriculture, education, youth development, community engagement, and more.

We’re proud to partner with the State Fair of Texas and GFF Architects on a project that represents an investment in the future of an iconic Texas tradition and the historic Fair Park campus.

As the new school year begins, we recently partnered with the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County for its Back to School Fair. Through our TRCares program, we donated 65 backpacks to help local children start the school year prepared and confident.

Strikes and friendly competition made for a fun evening at the ASA North Texas Bowling Tournament.

We value our partnership with American Subcontractors Association - North Texas Chapter and the opportunities it provides for contractors to connect and strengthen relationships with trade partners across the community.

While we may not have brought home the trophy this year, we'll be ready to roll when next year's tournament comes around.

TR is proud to celebrate the completion of Lakepointe Church’s new Royse City campus!

The new 45,000-square-foot campus marks an exciting new chapter for Lakepointe Church, transitioning from meeting at the local High School into a permanent home designed to support its growing ministry. Purpose-built spaces for worship, fellowship, and community engagement will allow the church to continue serving families throughout the Royse City community for years to come.

This marks the sixth Lakepointe campus that Talley Riggins has had the privilege to complete construction on across North Texas.

We're grateful for the trust Lakepointe Church continues to place in our team and for the collaboration of our architects, consultants, and trade partners who helped bring this vision to life.

Our Institutional team recently brought together trade partners for a pull planning session to develop six-week look-ahead schedules, align upcoming tasks, and identify potential challenges before they impact the project. Pull planning is a key component of Lean construction that brings the entire project team together to build the schedule collaboratively rather than working in silos.

TR delivers every project utilizing Lean methodology. It’s a collaborative approach that brings owners, our team, and trade partners together to improve communication, increase predictability, and create better outcomes for our clients.

This means fewer surprises, stronger coordination, and greater confidence that the project is moving forward as planned.

Each of our interns spend their summer diving into the day-to-day activities of an assigned project, gaining experience across multiple stages of construction.

Recently, our interns visited our PGA Links MOB & ASC project in Frisco, where they learned from leaders in both our field operations and project management teams. It was a chance to see how planning, coordination, and ex*****on come together on a complex healthcare project while gaining perspectives from experienced construction professionals.
