Spray foam works well in many places. Northern Wisconsin is NOT typically one of them.

Houses in our climate zone actually move a lot. We're not talking about prefab cabins - we're talking about the extreme temperature swings that cause expansion and contraction.

Well-built and insulated buildings can accommodate that shifting, but spray foam locks everything in place. When the building decides to move and the foam won't let it, something gives. That's when cracks form, air leaks develop, and the walls hide your inefficiency problems.
