As we cross into week four of ESOP Month, it's worth learning about the history of Employee Ownership.

The Employee Stock Ownership Plan, or ESOP as it is abbreviated, came to fruition through the 1974 Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

The writings on Employee Ownership by economist and attorney Louis Kelso shaped and inspired many of the elements we see in this act. And it is thanks to this very law that we can celebrate being an Employee Owned company.

Being an ESOP isn't just something that's mentioned at your onboarding; it's central to who we are as a company. That's why it's featured on our company logo.

At Geotex, not only do eligible employees receive shares in the ESOP, but we also offer a 401(k) plan, further securing your future and retirement.

This week, we celebrated Employee Appreciation Week, which is a way for us to express our gratitude to all our employee-owners. It is thanks to their hard work that Geotex stands as strong as ever and keeps delivering on our promises.

Each day, we held employee drawings for different prizes, including PTO. It was a joy to celebrate this week, but the fun doesn't stop, because we still have about half of ESOP Month to go!

Maybe it was a skid steer, loader, dozer, backhoe, excavator—or whatever machine someone finally trusted you enough to put you in.
