HURRICANE IN THE GULF JUNE 12!?

I have been trying to ignore the recent GFS model showing a tropical cyclone in the Gulf on ~June 12, since this model has been printing hurricanes in the long-range for years. However, it has been right on a few of these in recent years.

A storm like this could certainly impede moisture transport to the Great Plains and Midwest, which impacts severe weather season when these overlaps happen.

If this tropical cyclone materializes, it should be a weaker one

We will continue to monitor the long-range severe weather / tropical overlap potential
