In 1908, the electrical industry was starting to take shape at the turn of the 20th century. The IBEW and NECA were founded (in 1891 and 1901, respectively) and electrical contractors were forming, including Atlas Electric in 1908.
Atlas Electric was founded as a service-oriented electrical contractor serving the San Francisco Bay Area, which was still recovering from the great earthquake of 1906. In its early decades, Atlas Electric not only survived the Great Depression but went on to build a respected, successful business for several generations that followed.
In the late 1970s, Richard and Diane Pellizzari opened an electrical contracting shop in industrial Redwood City. With Richard, a highly skilled IBEW electrician, and Diane, a warm customer service ambassador, at the helm, Pellizzari Electric quickly established a name for itself. The company battled through tough economic times, finding a strong market niche in commercial projects.
In the late 1980s, a merge between the two companies created Atlas/Pellizzari Electric. Atlas brought an established service orientation, while Pellizzari contributed expertise in larger, commercial projects. The combined resources and customer base established a solid foundation for 25 years of business growth and customer relationships built on trust.
