A little garden story, right here in my neighborhood. 🌿✨
V & J are dear friends of our family, and this garden is especially close a little flagstone patio tucked beneath the raised deck, with Mentha softly growing between the stones.
The garden was designed to feel alive all year, with evergreens and plants that bring beauty and interest through every season.
But the sweetest parts came from J and J.
An old cedar stump became the heart of their little Moonlight gravel island — their own tiny Jurassic Park. 🦖🌿
And another stump became a little fairy garden. 🧚♀️🍄
We saved their beautiful maple, kept some of the plants they already loved, and added native and pollinator-friendly plants.
Now the garden has winding paths to explore, little places to imagine, and something to discover in every season.
And when I see J and J playing outside, I think…
This is what a garden is really for.
For little adventures.
Big imaginations.
And memories that quietly take root.
