Happy World Standards Day! 🌍
Great BIM data doesn’t happen by accident. It runs on shared standards.
Too many US projects lose time and budget to unclear deliverables, mismatched models and “accurate enough” assumptions. Here’s the fix, in 3 steps:
📁 ISO 19650: Define who delivers, who reviews and who approves, so information stays organized, versioned and traceable.
🎯 USIBD Level of Accuracy (LOA): Define what “accurate” means (for example, ±6 mm) before scanning starts, not after the model is built.
🏗️ Level of Development (LOD): Clarify what the model actually supports. A higher LOD does not guarantee higher accuracy.
💡 Pro tip: Align your information requirements, LOA and LOD at project kickoff. It prevents rework, RFIs and costly surprises on site.
At Top BIM Company, we deliver tailor-made, original and precise BIM models for architects, engineers, contractors and owners across the USA. 🇺🇸
