Hello everyone thank you for Checking out my business! I would like to start sharing some information on this page about services I offer, products I use, and general lawn tips for the Sacramento valley.
4 times yearly during my 7 application Turf Management program I apply a soil treatment containing beneficial bacteria, beneficial fungi, humic and fulvic acids, microbes, kelp, and more. Sometimes called a probiotic tea for your soil, I find this to be an extremely effective way to help soil health, root health, and strengthen your lawn to make it through our very hot summers.
I would like to specifically talk about the beneficial fungi in this “probiotic tea” called Mycorrhizae (my-core-eye-zuh), more on the rest of the soil treatment another time. Mycorrhizae is a beneficial fungus that attaches to the roots of a plant, in this case your grass roots. The fungus forms a mutually beneficial relationship with said roots. The mycorrhizal fungi are made up of root-like structures and possess a network of mycelium external to the roots that extend into the soil. This mycelium absorbs nutrients and translocates them back to the host plant. As a result, there is an increase in the absorption surface area of the roots. (See picture down below)
In a nutshell, Mycorrhizae helps extend the roots all throughout the soil, allowing the grass to develop much stronger roots, be able to uptake nutrients much more efficiently, and increase tolerance to drought and high temperatures. As a result, use of fertilizer, water, and pesticides can be reduced. Some say a 50-75% reduction can be made for all three.
Because of our drought I made it my goal to create a Turf Management program that would not only keep your lawn looking beautiful, but also helps reduce watering needs. Using less fertilizer and pesticides is also a huge plus.
