The unforeseen of remodels..

Let’s get into what we’re seeing here!

Upon demo of the carpet, we discovered the subfloor structure was uneven due to a previous awning enclosure that had been converted into living space. In order to properly install the new LVP flooring, the framing needed to be corrected and reinforced.
We cleaned out the area beneath the house that had been used for storage, installed new floor joist framing, and replaced the subfloor to ensure everything was level and structurally sound for the new flooring installation.

Sometimes the real work starts after demo — but doing it the right way is always worth it.

Now it’s time to enjoy the weekend and check out our local home show at the civic center. Hopefully next year we’ll be there participating as vendors! 😊

Sometimes remodels uncover more than expected — and that’s exactly why proper demo matters.

A refrigerator leak caused the flooring to swell and warp over time. Once we removed the existing floor, we discovered the subfloor underneath was uneven and compromised from the moisture damage.

To properly correct the issue, we:
✔️ Added 2x4 blocking to the existing 2x6 joists for additional structural support
✔️ Leveled and reinforced the framing
✔️ Installed a new 3/4” OSB subfloor to create a solid, stable foundation

The behind-the-scenes work isn’t always glamorous, but it’s what ensures the finished floor lasts for years to come.
