My name is Charles Cox. My family and I purchased and moved to a small farm in Essex Township within Kankakee County in October of 2018 after living in Plainfield, Illinois for nearly 30 years.

We quickly realized even though there are many great businesses and services in Kankakee County, finding them was a bit of a challenge. Aside from word of mouth recommendations from neighbors and area related Facebook groups, it was difficult to find and connect with local businesses and services.

Aside from Google, which primarily lists the businesses in Kankakee, Bradley and Bourbonnais, or the the County Chamber of Commerce, which lists only a small fraction of the great businesses in our county, we could not find anything online to search and connect with the local businesses and services most people are searching for regularly.

As the owner of a Digital Marketing Innovations, Inc. a marketing agency serving businesses since 2007, and a strong believer in the #ShopLocal movement, I decided to put the digital marketing expertise of my team to work and create this free directory for local businesses and the people searching for them.

We have truly enjoyed and appreciated the warm welcome we have received from everyone since moving here. We have big plans for this website and our page and look forward to creating new friendships as as we continue to grow. We designed this site with the hope of making it easier for people living in the Kankakee County area to find, connect with, and support local businesses and services.
