Me, for forgetting to post these for 3 months!

And also whoever decided to thicken a wall by 3ish inches without telling us before installing drywall!

Its an easy enough fix, but communication is important!

Stay safe out there folks, and remember to hire good contractors who know what they are doing!

Just poor craftsmanship! I walked in an apartment and see some real funky outlets. Not remotely level!

The electrician ran the wire, but never installed the box. Drywallers came along and drywalled the wire in, and cabinet guys trapped it after that.

In my opinion, it’s a fail accross the board!

The electricain was definitely lazy though 😂

I wonder why the switches won’t work? Hmmmm 🤔🤔🤔 anyone seem to know why?

More stuff in a new build this week, kinda tired of finding these mistakes over and over again 😂

The first picture is of switches i pulled out of the wall with no line power. Maybe its using that new bluetooth stuff?

The second picture is an outlet box with PLENTY of wire in the box, thats an easy installation right there 😂

The last 2 pictures violate NEC 2014 250.119 Identification of Equipment Grounding Con-
ductors. More of last week’s, the installer used black as grounds again.

If you are looking for someone who wont make mistakes like this, contact me! I actually know how swiches work 😂

Stumbled apon this in a new build the previous electrician was using black wires as grounds. The wires were grounded correctly, but that doesn’t make it right folks!

This box would violate NEC 2014 250.119 Identification of Equipment Grounding Con-
ductors.

Romex wire touching water lines,

This one is extra bad due to the water lines and wires being ZIP-TIED together! Copper water lines and electricity dont mix well!

I’m starting a new thing I'm going to call “Fail Of The Week!” Were i will post pictures and descriptions of various electrical, plumbing, or hvac “fails” or other things to worry about in your home, to start us off, fail #1!
Fail #1:

⚠️⚠️Old school fuse load centers!⚠️⚠️

For Fail #1 i think we should go OLD SCHOOL! a panel like this is probably older than you, or at least older than your kid! Super old school electrical, when i found this, i was surprised to see it functioning still!

If you have this in your house you should look into getting it replaced and swapped out sooner rather than later!

You have very little protection compared to modern alternatives! On top of faster trip/blow times, a new panel can provide GFCI and AFCI protection to your home!

Obligatory plug:
If you have something like this in your home, id be happy to get you a free estimate on the cost of replacement. I guarantee that i can beat any quote by any large company, and yes i have insurance!
