NOW HIRING – Construction Helper / Apprentice

C&K’s Contracting Services, LLC is looking to add a new person to our crew.

We’re looking for someone dependable, hardworking, and interested in learning the residential construction and remodeling trades. Experience is helpful, but it is not required. We’re willing to train the right person.

Position Details:
• Starting at $17/hour
• Part-time or full-time available
• Monday–Friday
• Typical hours: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• 30-day trial period
• 90-day performance and pay review

Our work varies from day to day and can include decks, siding, trim, drywall, doors and windows, repairs, remodeling, and general residential construction.

What we’re looking for:

Someone who shows up on time, listens, works safely, takes care of tools and customers’ property, isn’t afraid of physical work, and is willing to learn.

You don’t need to know everything coming in. We would rather have someone who can say, “I don’t know, but can you show me,” than someone who pretends to know something they don’t.

Our Hiring Process

We take hiring seriously because we’re not just looking to fill a spot for a few weeks. We’re looking for someone who could potentially grow with the company.

Selected applicants will go through a three-round interview process, which will include a basic hands-on skills assessment. The assessment isn’t about being an experienced carpenter—it’s about seeing how you follow instructions, solve problems, use basic tools, and approach learning.

If you’re selected for the position, we’ll start with a 30-day trial period, followed by a 90-day review.

If it’s a good fit for both of us and you show that you want to build a career in the trades, we’ll also be open to discussing trade-school training, additional responsibilities, advancement, and other opportunities within the company.

We’re looking for someone who wants an opportunity to learn a trade, develop real skills, and become a valuable part of a growing company.

📍 Based in the Red Lion/York County area. Transportation to our starting location is required.

Sometimes the best home improvements are the ones you never notice.

This project started with a pergola that had begun to deteriorate from years of weather exposure. As we looked closer, we found that portions of the framing were in direct contact with the roof and gutters, allowing water to wick into the lumber and accelerate rot.

Rather than simply replacing the damaged boards, we redesigned portions of the pergola to create proper clearance from the roofline and gutters, helping prevent the same problem from happening again.

We also:

• Replaced rotted trim with durable PVC that won’t rot or absorb moisture.
• Repaired damaged framing and trim.
• Treated areas for insects.
• Thoroughly cleaned and repainted the pergola to restore its appearance.

This homeowner has trusted us with several projects around their home—from restoring rusted steel window lintels and replacing deteriorated window caulking to hanging a large custom display cabinet. Next, we’ll be helping with siding repairs and additional exterior improvements.

We appreciate the opportunity to continue helping homeowners protect and improve their investment one project at a time.

A front porch should be more than just an entrance—it should be safe, functional, and add to the character of your home.

For this project, we removed the original cast iron support posts and safely supported the porch structure while the new system was installed. From there, we replaced the posts with vinyl-wrapped 4x4s, installed a new railing system, reworked and installed new soffit, and redesigned the front porch layout to create a more inviting and functional entrance.

Every detail was planned to ensure the finished project not only looked great but was built to last.

The result is a clean, updated front porch that improves curb appeal, enhances safety, and creates a more welcoming first impression for everyone who visits.
