My first bouquet of the season is always zinnias. This is true amazing. June has been a terrible month for us all the last 4 years. It will be 4 years in just a couple day we lost mom. It will be a year for dad the end of June and also for my sweet Winnie the p**f. I have never been a crier. But I do a lot more now days. I definitely cried while cutting these. I don’t know why… 🩷 I pray for rain and a great flower year for us all.

This is not dahlia season and I have blooms! Dahlias typically bloom the end of July first of August. Dahlias are planted out after your chances of frost has gone and/or you ground is around 60*. I would have planted around Mother’s Day. The tubers had a fast start being in the ground and the high temps we had early on. I did have to cover them a few time due to frost. They did stuffer a bit of damage but are doing amazing. Some have a lot of growth when I plant them out. They also get hit with transplant shock for a week or so. This time they didn’t have to go through that! I am so excited!!
