I'm sizing up some of the new varieties I'm trying for the 2023 season! Kang Starr Lemon Starburst is a cult favorite in the Pepper Lover's community, and I received some seeds! It's going to be in the upper-mid level Habanero level heat, with a very complex, ciitrusy sweet flavor. Brazillian Starfish - Yellow, Aji Jobito, CGN21500 "Sunset Peach", Sweet Cherry, Aji Guyana, Fish (One of the famous Horrace Pippin collected varieties from Baltimore MD), Buena Mulata (A purple Cayanne also from the Pippin collection), Purple Jalapeno, Chillaca, Biquinho, Tangerine Tiger Claw, Phantom Bhut (peach and purple mottled Ghost pepper), Wild Brazillian (small species wild chilie native to the Amazon Rain Forest clearings, Ninfadora, and Dream Catcher Numex Twilight!!!!!!!

What a year it has been! As the growing season is done, we transition into seed saving and planning for next year! Soon to come will be a Scarred Melon Etsy shop! I do have isolated seeds if anyone is interested for sale or trade. I have several cuttings of the best performing varieties that will be ready by April 2023. I will also have a few new varieties for next year, including Aji Gayana, CGN 21500 (unofficially named Sunset Peach), Brazilian Starfish Yellow, Kang Starr 'Lemon Starrburst', Pippin's Golden Honey, Jay's Giant Peach Ghost, and the heirloom Philly Fish (these will have the variegated leaves, but the fruit does not turn purple, only green cream and orange. All varieties with purple striping are hybrids).

Well, due to a few different reasons, I am not going to have as much produce as I had hoped. I still haven't heard back from the Chamber about renting space at Reading Farmers market. The weather has taken a toll on my tomatoes, as they are cracking before ripening and taste exceptionally watery. I will still have small batches of delicious peppers and greens! I'm officially switching to an order format, and can meet for an exchange or offer pick up instead!

Things are getting ready to harvest! These are a wasabi flavored green radish, often used as a substitute for the difficult to grow aquatic wasabi. This has an addictive and pungent bite, reminiscent of a mixture of horseradish and brown mustard seed! It mellows a lot when cooked, but use it raw ground in a food processor with a touch of white vinegar and oil for a spicy paste! Available Tuesday July 5th!
