Sometimes the little things around a home can help identify moisture issues before they turn into larger repairs.

If you’re seeing large numbers of wood lice around your home, deck, or siding, it may be a sign that moisture has been present longer than it should be. They are commonly found near damp wood, drainage problem areas, wet crawlspaces, and areas where wood has started to deteriorate. Identifying moisture issues early can often help homeowners avoid more extensive repairs in the future.

If you have concerns about moisture, rot, or deteriorating wood around your home, feel free to give us a call and we’d be happy to take a look.

Quick community question.
(Please Share!)

Almost every month, an elderly neighbor in our area needs a wheelchair ramp — and many can’t afford one. Sometimes the need is temporary, and ramps end up sitting unused or getting removed.
I’m exploring a way to create a simple, local solution to help seniors and disabled residents in Pacific County get safe access when they need it.
If you:
• Have a wheelchair ramp you no longer need
• Know of one that’s been removed or stored
• Work in healthcare, senior services, or a church
• Have ideas or resources to share
I’d love to hear from you. Comment here or message me.
This isn’t a fundraiser — just a community conversation to see what’s already out there and how we might help each other better.
Thank you.

Neighbors, it's going to be cold tonight, protect spigots, plumbing, and pets! 🥶

PLEASE EXERCISE SAFETY WHEN USING SPACE HEATERS. Cold nights increase the risk for fires 🔥

If the cord or outlet are hot...this is bad.🔥

If you feel the plastic next to the switches on your electrical panel breaker box and one or more are moderately warm or hot...this is bad. 🔥

If something blocks the space heater..this is bad🔥🤕

If this is you and need help, let me know. 📞

Our community has many older homes, wiring is often compromised or iffy. ⚡🔥

Check your Smoke Detectors! They really do save lives.🙏

BROKEN, CRACKED, OR FOGGY WINDOWS?
Before you replace the whole window, call ProblemSolved General Contracting Inc. — we may be able to replace just the glass and save you money.

Many homeowners don’t realize that in many cases only the glass needs to be replaced — not the entire window. We’ll evaluate your windows to determine the most affordable solution for you.

Plus — we’re listed with Pacific County PUD #2’s energy-efficiency programs, meaning your window repair or upgrade work may qualify for rebates or incentives available to local utility customers when done through a registered contractor.

Broken or blown windows cost money. Let us review your windows, explain your options, and help you keep more dollars in your pocket.

How's your drainage? If water is pooling around your home, it may be finding its way beneath the structure—where it can cause hidden damage, ongoing moisture problems, and costly repairs. Beyond the structural concerns, no homeowner should have to wade through standing water just to reach their front door.

In our climate, effective drainage is not a luxury—it is a necessity. Properly managing surface and subsurface water protects your home, your investment, and your daily comfort.

If you are experiencing standing water or drainage issues, we invite you to contact us. We can evaluate the situation and recommend practical, long-term solutions.

Pre-Purchase Residential Condition & Risk Assessment

A home inspection plays an important role in identifying observable conditions in a home.

Our Pre-Purchase Residential Condition & Risk Assessment helps put those findings into practical context — which items tend to matter most, what they may involve to address, and what next steps to consider.

A home inspection report is a valuable starting point — and often one part of a broader due-diligence process.

👉 See more below

Our Pre-Purchase Residential Condition & Risk Assessment is designed to complement a home inspection.

Yes — we can review your home inspection report and help explain the findings in plain language.
We also provide a contractor-led perspective, looking at how the home’s systems, structure, and site conditions work together from a construction and repair standpoint.

We help you understand:

• How inspection findings relate to real-world construction considerations
• Which items are typically cosmetic versus those that may affect structure, safety, or longevity
• What repair approaches are commonly used and order-of-magnitude cost ranges
• When it may be appropriate to consult a specialist — and which type

We may:
✔ Review your home inspection report with you — or help you identify appropriate resources to obtain one
✔ May conduct a contractor-led on-site review of visible and accessible conditions
✔ Consider construction, foundation, drainage, and site-related factors
✔ Discuss how certain conditions may impact safety, structure, or long-term performance
✔ Talk through repair options and order-of-magnitude cost considerations based on observable conditions
✔ Help you understand when additional professional input may be beneficial, such as from:
– Geotechnical engineers
– Structural engineers
– Foundation specialists
– Certified plumbers
– Licensed electricians
– Roofing professionals
✔ Recommend and help coordinate independent, licensed professionals when appropriate
✔ Help you think through what to address, what to negotiate, and what to further investigate

This service is performed by a licensed, bonded & insured WA General Contractor with hands-on experience repairing and improving residential homes.

🚫 This service does not replace a home inspection.
✅ It provides a construction-focused due-diligence review to support informed buying decisions.

👉 Understand the findings. Understand the implications. Move forward with confidence.

🌧️ — BASEMENT WATER TIPS

Heavy rain is sticking around for the next few days, and a lot of homes in our area are seeing water creep into basements. Here are a few fast things you can do:

• Clear gutters, downspouts, and drains — pine needles clog fast out here.
• Extend downspouts 6–10 ft away from the foundation.
• Check your sump pump (float moving freely, pumping strong).
• Sandbag low entry points like window wells and basement doors.
• Watch for groundwater — clear, steady water rising up is common in older PNW homes during long storms.
• Lift valuables and cords off the floor in case levels rise.
• Use pumps safely — dry circuits only, and keep cords out of standing water.

Storm’s not done yet — take care, check on neighbors, and stay safe.

If you need help or have questions, feel free to call.
