SDSTA, the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority, owns and operates the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, South Dakota, a world-renowned underground research facility. Our crews are hard at work placing concrete and advancing site infrastructure as this exciting project continues to move forward. Proud to be part of a project that supports innovation, education, and scientific discovery.
