More than 1,000 feet below the surface, our team is making progress on the revamp of the pump room at the 1,250 level of the Sanford Underground Research Facility.

The project includes preparing the underground space, cutting and removing concrete for new piping, and getting the room ready for the installation of new pump equipment. With limited access and the added logistics of transporting crews, materials, and equipment underground, every step requires careful coordination.

Dean Kurtz Construction has been retained as the General Contractor for the Sophia Court Shell and Tenant Improvements project in Rapid City, SD. We are accepting bids from Subcontractors and Suppliers until 2:00 pm Mountain Time on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026. Bids will be received in accordance with the Construction Documents, as prepared by 3Peak Architecture, dated July 21st, 2026.

Bids will be accepted electronically; email bids to [email protected], or fax to (605) 343-5932.

Plans and Specifications will be made available through Dean Kurtz Construction’s website. Plans and Specifications can be found at this address www.deankurtzplans.com /share/1E51064482 . Printing of documents will be the responsibility of the bidder obtaining the documents. Those bidders who obtain a full set or sets of the Bidding Documents will receive addenda via email as addenda is issued, and will be responsible for printing the addenda at their own expense. It will be the responsibility of the bidder to periodically review Dean Kurtz Construction’s website for issued addenda.

Progress is moving right along at the Exceptional Healthcare Community Hospital project. Our crews are currently working on flooring, doors, hardware, and all the finishing details as we push toward completion by end of June. We’re proud to be part of bringing this project to life and look forward to seeing Exceptional Healthcare begin their move-in process and prepare for a fall opening.
