A rental inspector flagged this bathroom window. The minute it started coming out, we found rot running through the whole frame.

• Bathroom windows need tempered safety glass, a custom order about four weeks out, so an instant install was off the table
• We sealed the opening with a framed plexiglass panel so the new tenants could move in on schedule
• Rot runs throughout the frame, and there's no telling how far it goes until we start demoing soon

This window was only about two years old. The wood underneath it was already rotting.

• Rot had spread through the sill, side trim, and the cedar shingles below
• We pulled the existing window and rebuilt everything from solid wood
• Custom sill and rebuilt trim, both with a lot of angle cuts, using 908 and pre-primed pine to match the 1960s profile
