Okay, who’s claiming the first cold night of the season in here? 🙋

New Regency stove installed in a timber frame cabin, and honestly, it was hard to pack up the tools on this one. Pine on every wall, exposed beams overhead, a big window full of trees, and a stove waiting for its first fire.

So here’s the important question: once it’s lit, where are you sitting? On the couch, or on the floor right in front of the glass with your coffee?

Clean lines, tight flashing, and a cap that means business. 🧱✅

Big shout-out to crew leader Tim and his team on this one. 👏👏👏

This chimney is now ready for whatever a New England winter throws at it: fresh brickwork, new step flashing, and a heavy-duty cap with mesh screening to keep out rain, snow, and critters.

Great work Tim and crew!

Gorgeous fall hydrangeas. Now look to the right. 👀

This chimney is showing classic freeze-thaw damage. Brick is porous, so it soaks up water. When that water freezes, it expands inside the brick, and over enough winters the face can crack and pop right off. That’s called spalling.

A quality masonry water repellent could have helped stop this before it started. A good one keeps rain from soaking into the brick but is breathable, so moisture already inside can still escape. Less water in the brick means less to freeze, and less damage every winter.

Damage like this gets worse each year. Replacing a few bricks and applying water repellent now is a much smaller job than rebuilding a section later.

Shoutout to this handsome devil! 👏

Alan, you’ve become an integral part of the Chimney Savers team. Whether it’s stepping up when needed, sharing your years of experience in the trades, or simply being a steady and dependable hand, your contribution to the team is invaluable.

Your hard work and willingness to jump in wherever needed do not go unnoticed.

Congratulations to the one and only Alan Roy, our September Employee of the Month! 🏆

Well deserved, Alan!

You might be asking, “What exactly am I looking at here?”

Well… there’s certainly a lot going on. 😳

This is where a chimney pipe passes through a foundation wall. And yes—that is burnt insulation on the right side.

And yes—those are forks and wire mesh cobbled together in an attempt to protect the insulation from the heat of the stovepipe. 🍴

While this may be one of the more creative examples of chimney-installation ingenuity we’ve come across, it is also extremely dangerous.

The burnt insulation is evidence that excessive heat was already reaching combustible material. An installation like this could have resulted in a serious house fire.

When it comes to chimneys and wood-burning systems, creativity is great—but proper clearances, listed components, and a code-compliant installation are a whole lot better. 🔥🏠

If something about your chimney or stove installation doesn’t look right, have it inspected.

Peak views from the rooftops and projects near and far! 🏔️

Just another day on the job for the Chimney Savers crew—taking in some of the best views Vermont and New Hampshire have to offer while keeping chimneys safe and sound. 🔥

First fire of the season? 🔥🍂

There's nothing quite like it. The stove's crackling, the Dutch oven's warming up, and the whole house finally smells like fall in Vermont.

Before you settle in for the winter, take a quick look at that thermometer on your stovepipe. Burning in the "burn zone" keeps your stove efficient and cuts down on the creosote that builds up in your chimney. Too cool and the creosote piles up. Too hot and you're pushing your stove harder than it should go.

Burn safe everyone!

🔥 It’s the little things that make a difference.

Cleaning the glass on your wood stove may seem like a small detail—but it’s one of the extra touches our technicians take care of during a chimney sweeping and service.

Our goal isn’t just to clean the chimney. It’s to leave your entire fireplace or stove system cleaner, safer, and ready to use.

Clean glass. Clean stove. Clean chimney.

Just another part of the Chimney Savers standard. 🔥🧹

We recently passed a milestone we’re incredibly proud of — more than 1,500 reviews on Google!

Community day well spent. 🪚🧡

Our crew traded chimneys for 2x8s this week to build play structures and sandboxes for the kids at Little Red Wagon Childcare Center — measuring, cutting, and assembling.

Huge thanks to the team who gave their time and muscle for this one, and to Little Red Wagon for having us. Can't wait to see it full of kids.
