APEX Trailworks

In between larger projects, we squeezed in an important accessibility upgrade at the Chittenden Brook Hut. We built a new ADA-accessible trail to provide easier access for wheelchairs and other mobility users to the backyard firepit and picnic area. We also installed concrete footers for an upcoming ADA ramp that will extend off the deck.

Another key improvement was regrading the approach to the existing ramp, making it much easier for wheelchairs to transition between the ramp and parking area. Using the excavated material from the project, we also resurfaced the parking lot.

We went beyond the original scope of work to help make the hut more accessible and welcoming for everyone.

After a long hiatus from social
media (be it a good one!), we’re rolling into 2026 hot and we’ll be posting more regularly. Our schedule is stacked, new equipment (Deere 50P!) just got delivered and we’re almost ready to go….just have to log some more ski days first! 🤣

In the coming days we’ll take a peek back at a successful 2025 season. We’d like to extend our gratitude to so many public and private clients that helped make our season fun, challenging, and very rewarding! We had a very diverse work load this season from trail inventory, mapping and assessments, to private multi-use trails, bridge construction, a sick moto track, forestry trail infrastructure, and so much more.

We hope you all had a healthy and happy 2025 and cheers to more in 2026!

A Cat and Deere are playing nice together this week in Northfield. Apex was hired by Norwich University to remedy the badly eroded Red Trail so the NU cadets (and the public) can use the trail once school starts back up very soon.

Thanks to for having Apex down to do some finishing work & trail work around the beautiful new Grout Pond Hut! It was a stellar week working there, & the bonus was staying there too!
The will soon roll right through here. Currently the Catamount trail goes through here. So either on skis or bike, or by foot you can stay here!

We wrapped up adaptive dh trail on last Saturday. It’s a solid mix of tech, flow, steeps, & wood features. We’re stoked to build this trail & add to this new network. The adaptive access definitely added a different element to the build, restricting some aspects, but we tried to make it wicked fun! Thanks RMT! 🤙🏼
Also thanks for fighting the good trail fight statewide & making VT awesome! Your efforts have undoubtedly furthered our state and help grow the mtb culture. Stoked to be a part of it! ❤️

We’ve kicked off the season with a build for at their soon-to-be-open Driving Range network. The upper DH trail will be a solid mix of flow and tech as it leads you into a banger line built by last year. 🔥

What an amazing day at the VT Statehouse! Thanks to Kelly Ault & for all their hard work and inviting us to Tourism Day.
We enjoyed a little time with Governor to kick off the morning. Then into an amazing testimony from and others. 🔥
The Vermont outdoor recreation sector is strong and growing. Lookout…because there’s more to come!
