Did you know that effective wildfire defense starts in your own backyard? 🌿🔥

Living in Southern California offers incredible scenery, but native landscapes require specialized fire mitigation tactics:

1️⃣ Natural Fuels: SoCal’s native vegetation is packed with natural oils and resins. During hot dry spells, these plants dehydrate and become volatile fuel beds ready to ignite from the smallest spark.

2️⃣ Santa Ana Winds: High-velocity offshore winds dry out vegetation and create severe fire conditions. Crucially, they pick up burning embers and carry them over a mile away, allowing fires to easily jump roads and clearings.
