🌮 Good Food, Good Company & Good Reasons to Celebrate! 🌮
Here at Urata & Sons, we enjoy sharing more than just a workplace we enjoy sharing space, good food, and time together. There’s something special about stepping away from the daily grind, gathering around a table, and connecting with the people we work alongside every day.
This month, we went with a Mexican food theme, starting with breakfast burritos from California Burrito for our monthly Breakfast Club and following it up with a build-your-own taco bar catered by Don Javis Tacos for our Employee Birthday & Appreciation Luncheon. Needless to say, nobody went hungry! 🌯🌮
Today, we celebrated some pretty special members of our Urata family. 🎉
🎂 Happy Birthday to: Rick, Ed, and Chloee
👏 And congratulations to Jennifer, Christina, Tony & Siobhan as we celebrate another year with Urata & Sons. We appreciate the dedication, hard work, and personality each of you brings to our team.

Our Earthwork, Excavation & Demolition team recently completed critical underground work, helping prepare the site for what comes next.
🔹 12” storm drain pipe installed beneath the driveway approach
🔹 24” perforated pipe installed and properly backfilled
🔹 Precision excavation and grading to ensure proper drainage and site performance
From underground infrastructure to final grading, our experienced crews understand that the work you don’t always see is what helps keep a project moving.

As our work at Sky River Casino continues, it's rewarding to watch each phase come together. What starts with carefully installed rebar, fasteners, and formwork ends with the boom pump placing concrete into columns we're proud to stand behind.

Big pours like this don't happen because of one company, they happen because of strong partnerships.
This was the River Rock L1 Hotel mat foundation pour, a major milestone requiring 1,975 cubic yards of concrete over an 18 hour operation. While delays in concrete service made for a long day, our crews stayed focused, adapted, and kept the work moving safely and efficiently.
At Urata & Sons, we're proud of our family of employees, but we're equally proud of the relationships we've built with the many subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners we work alongside. Success on projects of this scale comes from trust, communication, and a shared commitment to delivering quality work.

We have Vargas from Local 52 and Taylor from Local 46 completing a mockup of a retaining wall for one of our job sites. Attention to the craft is everything. We fine-tune our setup to eliminate issues before they ever become problems on the job site. Trying different methods helps us find what’s truly efficient, and what delivers the best results every time.

This month's Breakfast Club was powered by an all-star crew: Ed, Justin, Siobhan, and Chloee! 🍳🥓☕
They absolutely knocked it out of the park with an incredible spread that did not disappoint.
Breakfast Club has become something our office looks forward to every month. It's more than just great food, it's an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and strengthen relationships across departments. Moments like these remind us that we're truly a well-oiled machine, working together toward a common goal while having a little fun along the way.
A big thank you to Ed, Justin, Siobhan, and Chloee for their hard work and effort in making this month's breakfast such a success. Great job, everyone! 👏

Every year at Urata & Sons Concrete, we show our appreciation for our crews and their families by bringing everyone together and out of the field to enjoy some good old-fashioned summer fun.
At the heart of this event are the families and children who support our hardworking employees throughout the year. There is nothing better than seeing the excitement on a child's face while winning a raffle prize, enjoying a refreshing shaved ice from Kona Ice, or spending the day making memories with friends and family.

A special thank you to Kona Ice for bringing the fun and keeping everyone cool. Their interactive team always goes above and beyond to put smiles on the faces of our families.
We would also like to recognize our talented face painter and balloon artist for creating a little magic throughout the day. The joy, laughter, and excitement they brought to the children made the event truly special and created memories our families will cherish.
And of course, we can't forget the incredible team at Interstate. Kenny and his crew prepared, cooked, and served an outstanding BBQ feast that had something for everyone. Their professionalism and dedication made the day seamless, and we are grateful for the continued partnership we share.
Events like this remind us that Urata & Sons is more than a company, it's a community. We look forward to this gathering every year as an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and spend time with the people who make our success possible.

Urata showing appreciation for our spectacular team last week. ☀️
We got outside, enjoyed the amazing Sacramento weather, and spent time celebrating the people who help make this company what it is every day.
We also recognized several birthdays this past month, along with work anniversaries for David and Logan. 🎉
It takes every department, every crew, and every individual working together to keep this operation moving forward and we’re proud to celebrate the team behind it all. 💪
