Dark floor in a small white bathroom. Most people talk themselves out of it.
The instinct is to keep everything light so the room feels bigger. What usually happens instead is the room reads flat - nothing carries any weight, and every pale surface competes with every other pale surface.
A charcoal hex does the opposite. It gives the floor a job, and the white cabinetry and the veined counter get to be the bright thing in the room instead of one more light surface among several.
Then one metal, everywhere. Black faucets, black mirror frames, black pulls, black towel hook. Three vertical sconces instead of two, so both mirrors get light from either side rather than from overhead - side light is the reason you can actually see your own face.
Worth noting: nothing moved in this bathroom. Vanity in the same place, shower in the same place, the original doors stayed. All of the change is surface, fixture and light.
