Chimneys and other pentrations are where roofs are prone to leak. We replace the flashing on every roof we install, because leaving old metal on a new roof is asking for a callback.

If you're in the Triangle this evening, please keep an eye on the weather. Some areas are seeing significant hail, and that can cause damage to roofs, siding, gutters, windows, vehicles, and other exterior surfaces.

One simple thing you can do that takes less than two minutes: if it's safe to do so, use your phone to take photos or a short video of the hail as it's falling and any visible accumulation on your property. That documentation can be incredibly helpful if you need to file an insurance claim later or have your property inspected after the storm.

If you suspect your home or business was impacted, don't ignore it. Catching damage early can prevent many headaches when working with your insurance.
