North Carolina is well represented at the National Association of Home Builders Association Management Conference in St. Louis this week! 👏

HBA Executive Officers and staff are connecting with peers from across the country and bringing home new ideas to strengthen home builders associations across our state.

A major highlight: Megan Carroll, Executive Officer of the Builders Association of the Blue Ridge Mtns, has been named Executive Officer of the Year! 🎉Congratulations, Megan, on this outstanding national recognition!

Megan was congratulated on stage by fellow NC EO Holly Fraccaro of the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties who serves as Vice President of the NAHB Executive Officers Council.

The future of North Carolina's construction workforce starts with students like these.

We're proud to celebrate Joshua Scism and Nehemiah Smith, two of this year's Workforce Development Regional Scholarship winners, as they continue their education at North Carolina community colleges!

NCHBA Executive Vice President Tim Minton recognized both students today as the overall scholarship recipients for their respective NCHBA regions.

🔨 Joshua Scism, a graduate of Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough, will attend Alamance Community College. He is a two-time North Carolina SkillsUSA champion in Cabinet/Furniture Making and placed fourth nationally at SkillsUSA.

🪚 Nehemiah Smith, a graduate of Northern Guilford High School in Browns Summit, will attend Guilford Technical Community College. His interest in carpentry was inspired by working alongside his father on building projects. Fun fact: he is pictured with his carpentry teacher (far right).

Through the NC Home Builders Educational & Charitable Foundation, 23 students in our state received $28,250 in Workforce Development Regional Scholarships this year to continue their education in construction-related fields.

NCHBA was honored to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier today at Arlington National Cemetery.

This solemn ceremony provided an opportunity to remember the American service members who made the ultimate sacrifice and to honor those who have served our nation.

NCHBA 2026 President Dicky Gephart, Immediate Past President Thomas McClain, NAHB Immediate Past Chairman Buddy Hughes and NCHBA Executive Vice President Tim Minton represented the association during this tribute.

North Carolina’s local HBA executive officers gathered in Raleigh today for EO University!
