We are happy to announce that we are offering an encore of our April Furniture Refinishing workshop! If you didn't have a chance to take this 3-part series in the spring, this is your chance!

Expert refinisher Kelly Rowsey will teach you about refinishing tools & techniques, and then help you strip the finish from your furniture, sand it, apply stain, and seal and lacquer it. Each class builds upon the previous week, so we recommend taking all three parts.

Sometimes restoration really does mean getting a piece back on its feet.

This sewing machine cabinet came to us missing two of its turned legs. Using the surviving legs as his guide, our master woodworker Cristian recreated the missing ones to match. From the shape and proportions right down to the turned details.

Once the repairs were complete and the finish restored, you’d never know they had been missing at all. Just the way we like it!

This oak secretary has had quite a transformation!

What arrived with a dark, worn finish was carefully stripped, sanded and repaired before receiving its new stain and finish. With each step, more of that beautiful oak grain began to show through and the carved details that were once easy to overlook started standing out again.

The finished piece still looks like itself, just with a whole lot more of its character showing.

It may not be the side that everyone sees, but around here we think even the back deserves to look good 😉

A new fabric can completely change the look of a chair. but there’s quite a bit of work hiding behind that finished “after.”

These armchairs came into the shop wearing their older floral upholstery and left with a fresh, soft blue-and-cream pattern. In between, our upholstery shop was busy sewing and carefully installing the double welt that gives the finished edges that crisp, tailored look.

It’s one of those details you might not think much about when you see the finished chair… but you’d certainly notice if it weren’t there!

Swipe through for a look at the before, the process, and the finished piece.
