Today we kick off our new series called Connected to Our Community. Please follow along as we introduce you to our partners and how they truly are connected to Garner.
Hey y'all! Christian Olmstead here with Olmstead Homesteads (A Custom Homebuilder). OHI for short. I am originally from a small dairy town in Upstate NY; however, Garner has been my home for almost my entire adult life! I moved here in 2000 with my lovely wife, Jen. The weather and jobs brought us to NC, but truly it was our connection with Rev. John Cavari, at Garner Christian Fellowship, that landed us in Garner. I still serve on the elder board at GCF. Jen and I both took jobs immediately at Vandora Springs Elementary. Many of our best relationships in Garner come from our ties at Vandora. But, 2 years, 1 house purchase, and 2 back-to-back pregnancies later, in 2003 we decided it best for me to transition away from the teaching job that I loved, to my other love in real estate. After several years of various experiences in local construction practices, OHI was formed in 2007. It's hard to believe that was exactly 15 years ago now! OHI has weathered 2 of the biggest housing crises of all time, emerging as a sought-after design/build firm with a cutting edge style and personal touch that is hard to match. The synergy we often find with savvy local homeowners leads to some unique home designs that compliment Garner's beautiful landscape. You can find our work on social media via our hashtag . It's OHI's desire to build quality homes that improve our neighbors' quality of life. In addition to holding a GC License, I also became a licensed broker 2 years ago and joined Katie Sheriff's amazing firm, Simply Southern Real Estate. All 4 of our children have gone through the Garner schools at some point, including 2 graduates from Garner High. I hope to remain in Garner and keep investing in local businesses, government, real estate, and people. Please stop me and say hey if you see me out at Planet Fitness or coaching girls' softball at the Rec. fields; or if you see my wife or son, Ashton, who often run the park trails and sidewalks. Garner!
Now you know how Christian is connected to Garner, let's hear how you are connected to Christian? How do you know him? Have you used his business? Do you know his family?
